What work that you made in Art 3 are you out proud of?
I am most proud of this piece of artwork because its very unique. This piece is mixed media however the face, hair, lips, eyeshadow, body, and eyebrow are all make-up. The background and pupil of the eye is acrylic paint. I was originally going to make a piece using graphite or lead, although my teacher suggested using make-up because I wanted to make my girl very beautiful with a full face of make-up, at first I was completely against it but soon realized how different it would be and I started playing around with make-up. I ended up really likening the effect from the make-up so I decided to make my final with make-up and it turned out better than expected. Although I didn't get to use the original media I wanted to I don't regret it because I ended up making a very unique piece that I can't make anytime but I can use a pencil anytime I want. Because this piece is unique and different it's the piece I am most proud of.
What did you like about Art 3? What would you change?
In Art 3 I liked the freedom we had. I liked that you would give us an overall topic to base our projects off of but the media we used and what we made was our choice. I liked this because I like certain mediums and I don't like certain mediums and when you have the freedom to choose which one you prefer sometimes your artwork can be better because your making a piece you actually care about. One thing I would change is the time for each piece, I wish that we were able to make more pieces than we ended up making. I would change it so that you had a week for each piece and on the Monday of the following week you would have your critic day. I would also make the critic different that everyone presenting instead I would have people leave a comment on peoples paper to help them with the next piece they make. I would have liked to make more pieces than I did although time flies past and sometimes you need the extra time to finish a piece. I would change the amount of time we had because we would then be able to create more pieces with lots of different mediums.
