Of the mini lessons the charcoal drawling was the hardest. Because it was my first time working with charcoal and it was hard to get all the values into the picture with this being my first time using charcoal. The easiest one for me was the perspective photo because it was fun and wasn't that hard to make one object appear bigger than another object or objects.
We collaborate:
During my work process I did ask a few students for feedback on a couple things like where I might need shading and highlighting also if I should add certain things to the drawing and if the overall piece looked decent. They also helped me make my drawling look more realistic by adding white to certain parts of the object to make the object stand out more. Finally they helped me with the background because at first I had a light background and they objects didn't pop and now they do with a darker background.
Someone did help me learn important information, Mr.Creech helped me learn where to shade so that it makes it look like there's light coming from a certain angle . He also helped me learn how to highlight my objects to make them look circular or more realistic. Finally he helped me with choosing how I placed my objects so that they all fit together and looked like its a picture to make it more realistic.
I developed my art making skills:
I did learn new techniques through the process of this artwork, some of the new techniques include highlighting and shading. I learned where to highlight to make the objects appear more realistic and circular. I also learned how to shade to make the object look like there was light coming from an angle. These new techniques will help me in the future because it can change the way my artwork looks.
I didn't gain a skill with familiar materials because I didn't use familiar materials. The materials I used where charcoal and a paper towel, which this is only my second time drawling with charcoal. However I do think I have improved from my last charcoal piece by where I highlight and shade my items and how I place them.
